EPAL 2 STANDARD EUROPEAN PALLET

In Europe, EURO pallets, also known as CEN pallets, are widely used in many industries. EURO pallet manufacturers must comply with the European Pallet Association (EPAL), an organization that regulates the smallest details, including the type of nails used to build the pallets and the pallet wood used.

Strict standards are based on the existence of a common European pallet exchange organization, whose agreements for the mutual exchange of pallets across national borders only cover EURO pallets regulated under EPAL EUR/ (mainly pallet EUR1). Large freight forwarders will accept the same type of pallet, handling cost clearing between sender and recipient even for international transport with countries participating in the European common market system. (EU).

The harmonization of freight handling within the European Economic Area has led to a simplification of the European single market system. EURO pallets are not effective in transporting ISO containers and the pallet size is slightly smaller than the width of the container.

After the success and great benefits of Pallet EPAL 1 in heavy industry, Pallet EPAL 2 was born. Pallet EPAL 2 is manufactured differently from Pallet EPAL 1 in terms of length, width and height. Pallet EPAL 2 has a maximum load capacity of 4000 kg of Pallet EPAL 1 up to 4250 kg.
